How Did I Start? (The Gun & the Starting Line)
There are a couple of possibilities when we place our toes on the edge of the white line. The first thing to notice in the race to fitness is You are the only one standing at the line. This should bring comfort realizing nobody is in the stands comparing you to any competition. It’s only you comparing yourself to your “New Vision”. For me, the starting gun was experiencing the movie Conan the Barbarian. It was so impactful on my soul there were no false starts. No re-committing. Never losing my way or getting distracted by life’s challenges and obstacles. Since I was 16 to my current age 59, I don’t believe I’ve ever skipped more than a week of working out (based on work travel or vactions).
